Emergencies

If your pet is experiencing a genuine emergency, please call us immediately:

  • 01732 863 229

  • 07443 929 395

Please do not use social media or e-mail to contact us in the case of emergencies: they are not constantly monitored.

At times when we are closed or cannot get to the phone and you have a genuine emergency, please contact our out-of-hours partners:

  • Pennard Vets (Sevenoaks) 01732 452 344
  • Park Vets (Sidcup) 0208 300 8111

What is a genuine emergency?

Your pet is:

  • struggling to breathe and turning blue
  • chocking
  • bleeding heavily (there is a constant gush of blood and you are unable to count the drops)
  • having a seizure
  • collapsed / unconscious / unresponsive
  • experiencing severe trauma e.g. road traffic accident or fallen from a height
  • unable to pass urine, despite constant attempts, and is in severe pain or collapsed with this
  • similar conditions that pose an immediate threat to life.

Urgent cases

Please use:

  • our symptom checker
  • VidiVet (Skylark registered clients only)
  • Our out-of-hours partners as above, only if you are unable to contact us or find more information via the symptom checker or VidiVet

If you are unsure whether your pet is an emergency but feel it needs urgent medical attention, please call us on the telephone numbers above, or send a text to 07443 929 395.  You can also use our symptom checker  to ascertain whether this is an emergency, urgent, or can be seen over the next couple of days.

Skylark Vets clients also have access VidiVet for free veterinary advice 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. You will need to have access to a computer to register you and your pet on the VidiVet website, then download the App onto your phone. You can then access veterinary advice through the App. A qualified, experienced veterinary surgeon will answer your query within 30-60 minutes with a video message.  They will advise you of how urgent your pet’s case is, and whether to bring any samples with you.

For pets who are in distress but not experiencing life-threatening situations, please contact us  by telephone, text or e-mail, or use our on-line booking tool  to make an appointment at your earliest convenience.
